EDANA, the leading global association and voice of the nonwovens and related industries, has announced the publication of its guide to the European Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR).
EDANA (and other stakeholders) have engaged with the European Commission in the discussion about ‘treated articles’, and EDANA’s BPR guide highlights the details and outcomes of these discussions.EDANA, the leading global association and voice of the nonwovens and related industries, has announced the publication of its guide to the European#
The BPR has been in place since 2012 and EDANA has actively followed the developments to this regulation, the association said in a statement.
Marianne Rosborg, EDANA’s regulatory affairs manager said, “It is obvious that there are still some open questions about the implementation and interpretation of the BPR, and this is why we are publishing the BPR guide - to share our views on the regulation and continue to give information to EDANA member companies about what this may mean for their products and organisation and help them in their interaction with third parties about this.”
EDANA’s general manager Pierre Wiertz said, “The timing for publishing the BPR guide is right. The European Commission has now finalised its FAQ on treated articles and with this in hand and the BPR guide from EDANA, our industry now has better support and directions for the implementation of this regulation within their business, and for their products.”
In addition to publishing the BPR guide, EDANA will be hosting a webinar on March 31, 2015 about the BPR and the association’s guide. The webinar will be free and open to the public. (GK)
