Latest innovations and trends around circularity were talked about at the second edition of EDANA’s Circular Nonwovens Forum held recently in Belgium. The forum gathered nonwoven manufacturers, suppliers and converters for an in-depth engagement with stakeholders on challenges and opportunities in the pursuit of a circular economy for nonwovens.

“It was good seeing people from all over Europe and from our industry, and it was an interesting mix between the hybrid and face to face” said Frank Aberle, business unit manager, Norafin Industries, one of the participants. “It was maybe easier for many to share insights and knowledge. We look forward to learning more at INDEX and at the next edition of the Circular Nonwovens Forum!”

“At Jacob Holm we are very driven by sustainability and here I learnt about lot on new technologies and to hear confronting points of view is always valuable. Also, it was wonderful to see people face to face again,” said another participant Christel Dendas, president of Health and Skin Care.

The forum covered several vital topics such as biodegradable testing and certification, innovations in materials and production processes, and the challenges of recycling among others, EDANA said in a press release.

“I am very encouraged by the growth of this event in both reach and scope. It is truly rewarding and motivational to see such expert level participation” said Gil Stevens, external relations and sustainability director at EDANA. “To see such a considered understanding of the challenges at hand, and the range of solutions and innovations to meet them, has exceeded our objectives.”
