Element Materials Technology announces the appointment of Jessie MacLeod to manage key operational activities at its facility in Glendale, CA, formerly Delsen Testing Laboratories.

Macleod brings vast experience to the role and she will be responsible for overseeing development of the laboratory’s services and processes. Her expertise in advanced materials within the industry will be particularly valuable, as her appointment comes at a time when Element is investing heavily in expanding the capabilities of its aerospace testing division, with a particular focus on new materials.

This follows its continuing high-profile involvement in ceramic matrix composite (CMC) development and testing and the news that a twelfth Element laboratory recently received Nadcap accreditation, believed to be the most held by any independent materials testing company.

With extensive experience in manufacturing, testing and customer technical support of polymers and composites used in the aerospace industry, Macleod’s significant experience has been gained while holding senior technical and R&D positions at some of the sector’s most recognizable companies. Prior to joining Element, Jessie spent eight years at Cytec, where she was the Technical Service Manager for sites across the United States.

Charles Noall, President and CEO of Element, says: “With the increased use of composites and other non-metallic materials in the aerospace and defense, oil and gas, power generation and transportation sectors, we see a large potential for composite testing growth.  Element is committed to supporting its customers with the highest quality data and services, and we are expanding our consulting and testing services for these materials which will position us well for industry demand.

“Jessie will support the Glendale laboratory as it continues to build on a long composite history, immense testing knowledge and dedicated quality of service. Adding strong and knowledgeable leaders is a critical part of our growth strategy as we continue to expand Element’s highly regarded team of Engaged Experts and facilitate the sharing of their expertise across Element’s platform of 1,400 scientists, engineers and technicians. Appointments such as Jessie’s are critical as we continue our long-standing commitment to expand testing capacity and capabilities for non-metallics”, he adds.
