Consumers are looking for products which are natural, safe to use, and have a low environmental footprint. NaturaFluff Eco is an oxygen-delignified fluff pulp, which means that no bleaching chemicals are used in its production. As a result, the fluff pulp has a warm, natural beige colour and a more than 30 per cent lower carbon footprint in comparison to traditional fluff pulp, without compromising on product performance, the company said in a media statement.
Asthma Allergy Nordic is a collaboration between the asthma and allergy organisations in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. With the Asthma Allergy Nordic label on hygiene or tissue products, consumers will know that the risk of allergic reactions on the skin is minimal. Stora Enso is the largest supplier of fluff pulp in Europe. The fluff pulp is produced at Skutskär Mill in Sweden. Stora Enso’s fluff pulp is FSC and PEFC certified, which means that the wood raw material comes from responsibly managed forests.
“NaturaFluff Eco, as all Stora Enso fluff pulp grades, already fulfils the requirements of common eco-labels such as the EU Eco label, Nordic Swan and Blue Angel. Qualifying for Asthma Allergy Nordic is the final proof point that this new, more environmentally friendly fluff pulp, is just as good and safe to use as traditional bleached fluff pulp,” Marianne König, product manager for fluff pulp at Stora Enso, said in a statement.
