Oerlikon Barmag has expanded its measurement testing capabilities for assessing its equipment, with a multi-channel analysis system.

Supplied by Brüel & Kjær, the new LAN-XI system includes a PULSE LAN-XI analyzer, with unlimited Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) software (Type 7770N), which allows engineers to make quick, easy checks of vibration performance. It also includes Order Analysis (Type 7702N1) software; ideal for identifying vibration phenomena generated by rotational vibrations over a wide and high RPM range.

Brüel & Kjær's German Sales Manager, Richard Schlombs said: “Oerlikon Barmag had already been using one of our PULSE Reflex-Modal systems for over a year, when they decided to increase their channel count for more in-depth analysis tools, such as Finite Element Interfaces (FE) and correlation analysis.”

He continues: “By adding PULSE LAN-XI to their existing system, Oerlikon Barmag has instant access to PULSE Reflex Finite Element Interfaces (FE) and Correlation Analysis. The FE tool creates models which can be animated in order to get an idea of frequency range of interest, mode density and critical modes for the modal test.”

Oerlikon Barmag is the global leader in the construction of spinning facilities for such synthetic fibers as nylon, polyester and polypropylene as well as texturing machines. Core competencies in this area include plant design, facility design and construction, and the production of related components like winding heads, pumps and godets.
