The event will host over 20 leading industry speakers, including Rockline, Lenzing, Suominen, Crown Abbey, Danimer Scientific, Kimberly-Clark Corporation and more. About 20 exclusive presentations will be held covering, plastic-free wipes, market insights, sustainability, nonwovens, formulations, and production innovation, the organiser said on its website.
A panel on ‘Ensuring correct disposal: Is this the call to action the wipes industry should focus on now?’ will take place along with an online workshop led by Smithers industry expert, Phil Mango on ‘The European Wipes Market Outlook – The New “Normal” 2023 and Beyond’.
Jason Finnis, executive VP and chief innovation officer at Bast Fibre Tech, will be one of the speakers at the event. He will be speaking about hemp fibre use in wipes. When asked about its part in the future of plastic-free wipes, Finnis said, “Interest in alternative natural fibres from the nonwoven industry is increasing at a very fast rate. Consumers, brands, and legislators are pushing hard to remove plastic from single-use products. Hemp and other bast fibres are ideally suited to play a significant role in this transition and marry performance and sustainability in an all-natural, plastic-free, and tree-free fibre.”
Companies will also showcase their latest solutions and services around wipes and nonwovens in an exhibition hall at the event.
