Groz-Beckert's Gebecon felting needle for the production of nonwovens was among the three finalists for the RISE Awards instituted by the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA).
“The RISE Durable Product Award recognises innovations in the sector of nonwoven production,” a press release from the German company informed.Groz-Beckert's Gebecon felting needle for the production of nonwovens was among the three finalists for the RISE Awards instituted by the Association #
According to Groz-Beckert, the Gebecon felting needle is characterised by an increased stability in comparison to conventional standard felting needles, coupled with high needle flexibility.
“In the needling process, it ensures a uniform fibre compaction, reduces the risk of needle breakage, and guarantees controlled draft even at extremely high production speeds,” Groz-Beckert said.
“With its intermediate-reduced working part, the felting needle meets the requirements for a wide range of applications with coarse and fine gauges,” it observed.
Typical application fields of the Gebecon needle are production of synthetic leather, needling of high-tenacity fibres like aramid fibres as well as high-speed and waste-fibre needling with optimised fibre transport.
Groz-Beckert is a producer of industrial machine needles, precision parts and fine tools as well as systems and services for the production and joining of textile fabrics.
The products and services support the fields of knitting, weaving, felting, tufting, carding and sewing, while the company, founded in 1852, employs around 7,800 people.
The company generated a turnover of around €629 million in 2015 and operates with agencies, production and distribution subsidiaries in more than 150 countries around the world. (AR)
