The Ministry of Textiles in association with Indian Chamber of Commerce - Guwahati Office is organizing a one-day event on “Geotextiles and Agrotextiles” in two different cities in the North-Eastern states of India.
The first event will be held at Hotel Nakshtra in Guwahati on March 1, 2012 and the second will be held at Hotel Polo Towers in Shillong on March 2, 2012. The event will discuss and deliberate the various aspects like application and usability of geotextiles and agrotextiles and will also help in creating value-chain and market linkages too.
The Union Ministry of Textiles will be represented by Mr AB Joshi - Textiles Commissioner and Mr. Sujit Gulati, Joint Secretary - Ministry of Textiles.
Among those who will deliver presentations on geotextiles will be Bombay Textile Research Association (BTRA), Ahmedabad Textile Industry's Research Association (ATIRA), IRC and Indian Jute Industries Research Association.
Among those who will deliver presentations on agrotextiles will be SASMIRA, State Agriculture Department and Assam Agricultural University.
On the subject of creating value-chain and market linkages, presentations will be made by ITTA, State Soil Conservation Department, Border Road Organisation, North East State Road Project, IIT- Guwahati and Institute of Water and Land Management.
