The Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, INDA has announced names of 15 companies as finalists in five categories for its IDEA16 Achievement Awards.

Winners will be announced and honoured at IDEA16, the event for nonwovens and engineered fabrics, which will be held May 2-5, 2016 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) in Boston.
So, while INDA's technical advisory board has selected the finalists, industry professionals can now select their top choices in each category on the Nonwovens Industry magazine's website.
Finalists range from a new patterning process to form special and unique artwork within flushable wipes substrates, and a laminate that passes the highest level of protection against viruses in surgical gowns.
“They also include a fluff pulp made of 100 per cent highly sustainable eucalyptus planted and harvested in Brazil,” the INDA press release said.
The finalists for the IDEA16 Equipment Achievement Award for best new equipment introduction are Andritz for a Flushable Substrate Patterning Process and ITW Dynatec for Ultra Strand Coating System.
The other finalist in the same category also includes Technoplants s.r.l. for its Multiline Pre-Card.
For the IDEA16 Roll Goods Achievement Award for best new roll goods introduction the finalists are Avintiv for its AAMI 4 Laminate; Freudenberg for Evolon 3D and Jacob Holm for Softlite lightweight nonwovens.
The finalists for IDEA16 Raw Material Achievement Award for best new fibre or raw material introduction are BASF for its Saviva SAP Technology; Kelheim Fibres for Viloft short-cut fibres and Suzano Pulp and Paper for Eucafluff fluff pulp.
For IDEA16 Short-Life Product Achievement Award for best new disposable product utilising engineered fabrics, the finalists are Chicopee for Duradry; McAirlaid's for X-Top Pouch for Men and Wipemeworld for Wipeme flushable wipe on a roll.
The finalists for IDEA16 Long-Life Product Achievement Award for best new durable product utilising engineered fabrics is Impossible Objects, LLC for CBAM 3D printed pieces.
Other finalists for the same category include Tiguard for Vibrance Nonwoven-Membrane Carpet Backing and Ultratech International for Evershield Durable Omni Repellant formula. (AR)
