The Techtextil Middle East Symposium and the associated Techtextil Pavilion will provide a greater opportunity for TAL to expand its activities within the region and provide robust platforms for access into the market.
Both events are held concurrently with Intersec 2014, the Leading International Trade Fair for Safety & Security which is also organised by Messe Frankfurt. Over 1,000 exhibitors and more than 22,000 trade visitors are expected to take part in the 16th edition at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 19 to 21 January 2014.
During the event, TAL will be displaying its Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) technologies and SAF-based converted product portfolio – nonwovens, wovens, yarns and tapes.
These are suitable for a wide-range of markets and applications, including advanced wound care, filtration – predominantly of water from oils and fuels, water-blocking geotextiles and water-blocking yarns and tapes for the cable market, water management agrotextiles, and fabric technology for coolant apparel garments. With the Intersec visitors in mind, TAL will also be available discuss how its technology can be applied within flame-retardant applications.
“One of the main products on display will be TAL’s durable KoolSorbTM technology – a washable fabric created to provide sweat absorption and comfort functionality when worn under heavy clothing,” explains Technical Sales Manager Dave Hill. “KoolSorbTM has been in development for some time. 2012 saw us start promoting the technology quite heavily and feedback from the industry, potential customers and also the media was extremely positive.
“As a result of this communication, we decided to go through a further development and modification process before making the fabric commercially available. This work is now in its final stages, and we plan to be able demonstrate what has been achieved in Dubai.
“Innovation is at the heart of everything we do as a company and events such as TechTextil not only allow us to promote the wide range of uses for our fibrous super absorbent technology, but also discover new opportunities and areas for further exploration.”
