Presently, the company is in the process of selecting appropriate land for setting up the project.
The proposed unit would produce roll goods which would be used in the manufacture of medical and hygienic products like baby diapers, etc.
He further informed that following announcement of the new Textile Policy by the government a couple of months back, they have received investment proposals worth around Rs. 50 billion.
The policy focuses on cotton cultivating belts of Marathwada, Vidarbha and North Maharashtra. It contains provisions in respect of incentives like 10 percent capital subsidy.
As stated by the Minister, the new Textile Policy covers 162 projects.
He informed that to attract investors to the key textile sector in the state, they are planning to organize road shows in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
