NITRA offers testing facilities for technical textiles

Ministry of Textiles, GoI and the textile industry jointly established NITRA in 1974 for conducting research and providing support services to Indian textiles industry. 
 
NITRA’s prime activities include R&D, technical consultancy, testing of materials, manpower training and technical publication. Testing, in particular, is one of the prime activities of NITRA with about 1200 satisfied clients from India and abroad.
 
NITRA offers exhaustive testing facilities to textile, apparel, technical textiles (Protective textiles) and allied industries through its six NABL accredited (ISO/IEC 17025:2005) and BIS recognized laboratories such as Physical Lab, Chemical Lab, , Polymer & Technical Textiles Lab, Eco & Environment Lab, and Heat & Flame (Fire Testing) Lab. 
 
All the laboratories work 24x7 and facilities available to test samples as per IS, ISO, ASTM, AATCC, DIN, BS, JASO, SAE, EN, NFPA and other customized standards. The latest Heat & Flame (Fire Testing) laboratory is established with the support from MoT, GoI.
