Systems builder, Oerlikon Barmag has opened the new technology centre at Chemnitz and plans to invest in the research and development at the site.
The 1,600 square metres building at Zwickauer Straße, Chemnitz will be the venue for the development and testing of extrusion systems for tapes and monofilaments along with winding/texturing machines, twisting machines and carbon fibre winders. The Chemnitz-based Oerlikon Barmag technologies currently comprises of applications for tapes and monofilament yarns. Its applications range from carpet backing fabrics, artificial turf, geotextiles all the way through to the agricultural sector.
