The SETEX team was glad to welcome a lot of customers and interested people for discussions on their booth at ITMA Asia + CITME 2012 in China.

Topics discussed:
• Energy management concept
• SECOM 575 controller
• SETEX continuous concept
• Fabric Inspector

Energy management concept
Sustainability and process reliability are recently the most discussed issues in the industry. Saving energy, reducing water consumption and forcing reliable processes leads to reduced production costs, better carbon footprint and higher product quality. For a systematical improvement of these key figures, SETEX developed the new energy and utility management module of OrgaTEX.MES. In addition to the well-known modules of OrgaTEX.MES this module is the solution for economic and environmental optimization. It is made to:

• optimize water emission, energy consumption and resource productivity
• provide an energy management workflow
• monitor the actual production parameters (e.g. consumptions, temperatures, levels, pressures, …)
• avoid energy peaks actively
• intervene running processes directly

OrgaTEX.MES is a manufacturing execution system (MES) which is designed in modular form to provide managers of textile dye- and finishing mills with the information they need. This innovative system is made for real-time data acquisition and interpretation. Process data of each connected machine can be seen in real-time during the running process or analyzed later on. Third party integration of color kitchen systems helps to manage the dye house and improve data transparency.

With the information out of OrgaTEX.MES will be able to:
• Shorten time-to-market of the products
• Increase the product transparency and flexibility
• Plan optimization
• Reduce downtimes
• Lower production costs
• Improve productivity
• SECOM 575 controller

Company has introduced the SECOM 575 controller into the market. The new controller expands the SECOM 5 series family using CE technology:

• Color display with touch control in a new design
• All functionalities for a fully automatic dyeing operation
• Integrated PLC
• CoDeSys and PLC Lab libraries for dyeing machines
• SmartConfig: 9 entire machine setups for easy machine connection

SETEX continuous concept
In addition to this innovative controller the continuous concept from SETEX will be presented. This modular structured concept is based on the well-known SECOM touch screen controller. In combination with temperature, humidity and fiber structure sensors SETEX is able to control thermo fixation process, exhaust air humidity and shrinkage on new or existing stenter frames and dryers. Also full control of finishing machines like stenter, dryer and washing machines is possible with this concept.

Big advantages of these technologies are:
• improved product quality
• reduced energy demand of the machine
• enhanced process reliability

Fabric Inspector
To determine the thread/mesh density of knitted fabrics and warp/weft density of woven a system will be shown under the name Fabric Inspector. This system was made to control shrinkage over the whole production process and to prevent problems in quality control. The system is equipped with an innovative sensor system and software technology. Problems which normally occur during shrinkage determination of dark shaded fabrics are solved with this system. The Fabric Inspector can be combined with OrgaTEX.MES system to bring lab determined values online to the production line.
