Pentaxia, a leading composites company from England, welcomed the Mono R from Briggs Automotive Company (BAC). Pentaxia was the main composite supplier for the Mono R, which is a lighter, more powerful second-generation version of the popular Liverpool-built car. The Mono R serves as the pinnacle of engineering and performance in the automotive industry.
The Derby team have worked closely with the BAC designers and have been actively involved in decisions on how the car should be manufactured as the car was the first in the world to use graphene-enhanced carbon fibre in every panel. Through this collaboration, BAC were able to deliver a design that not only looked amazing and kept in line with the existing Mono DNA, but also contained an entirely new vehicle architecture with enhanced aerodynamics, the company said in a press release.Pentaxia, a leading composites company from England, welcomed the Mono R from Briggs Automotive Company (BAC). With a target of the car launch at Goodwood, Pentaxia effectively had 5-6 weeks from final design confirmation to manufacture approx. Around 80 per cent of the vehicle ready for the big reveal. Pentaxia successfully worked to this tight deadline and the visit from the BAC team and the Mono R was a way to say thank you for all the hard work put in by the staff to achieve this.
Weighing just 555kg, the R is 25kg lighter than the standard Mono and at 340bhp it offers a truly remarkable power-to-weight ratio of 612bhp-per-tonne – resulting in world-beating performance on both the road and track.
The Mono R is one of the most exclusive single seater supercars ever made with only 30 models being produced and already sold to existing Mono owners around the world. Pentaxia will be manufacturing all 30 car sets and supplying parts fully finished and ready for assembly.
“Launching Mono R was a monumental step in the history of BAC, and we owe so much of that to the fantastic work of our partners and suppliers. What we’ve achieved alongside Pentaxia is nothing short of revolutionary and we were absolutely delighted to share the incredible finished result with the hugely talented Pentaxia team,” Ian Briggs, BAC co-founder and design director said.
