PFAFF Industrial, a leading brand in the automation engineering of sewing and heat-sealing processes, is set to display a special version of its PFAFF 8323 tape-welding machine and other sewing solutions at the A+A show, international trade forum for safety, security, and health at work, in Dusseldorf, from October 17 to 20, 2017, in hall 11/B25.
When processing textiles and leather in the field of work-, professional and protective gear (clothing & shoes), the tightness of seams is of elementary importance and ensuring it during production is unavoidable. For items used for radiation protection, hygienic protection, or environmental protection, 100 per cent seam tightness is mandatory. For work and professional clothes as well as shoes, the additional sealing of seams using a tape is an important quality feature.PFAFF Industrial, a leading brand in the automation engineering of sewing and heat-sealing processes, is set to display a special version of its PFAFF 8323 tape-welding machine and other sewing solutions at the A+A show, international trade forum for safety, security, and health at work, in Dusseldorf, from October 17 to 20, 2017, in hall 11/B25.#
PFAFF Industrial has two tape-welding machines in its portfolio to use on water-repellent, waterproof, and breathable materials which ensure high process-reliability and reproducible quality: the PFAFF 8303i (Flat-bed machine) and the PFAFF 8323 (Cylinder-arm machine). The machines are used for the programmed sealing of sewn or welded (for example, ultrasonic) seams. The machines may also be used for cross seams in three-layer areas.
In 1987, PFAFF introduced the first hot-air tape-welding machine. The latest generation of these machines is equipped with various technical features.
Automatic adjustment of the heating power to the variable speed is possible. Also, automatic monitoring and adjustment of all pre-set or programmed parameters can be done. All relevant process parameters can be programmed and saved via touchscreen. Both individual segments and complete cycles can be programmed.
Two separate drive motors for the top and bottom feed roller guarantee an optimum adaptation to the operation. Trimming of the seam tape becomes unnecessary (welding from the beginning of the tape), resulting in a considerable reduction of the tape used. The tape cutter is electronically controlled, with precision adjustment for an exact setting.
The special version of the PFAFF 8323 can weld reflecting stripes that are 50 millimetres wide onto jackets, work clothes, etc. (GK)
