PGI appoints David Wang as president for PGI, Asia

Polymer Group Inc. (PGI), a leading global engineered materials company focused primarily on the production of nonwovens, has appointed David Wang as the president for PGI, Asia.

Wang brings over 20 years of experience across various disciplines, leading multi-national organizations in China and around the world to the new position leading PGI’s efforts toward continued growth and market leadership in the hygiene and healthcare markets, PGI said in a media release.

Joel Hackney, chief executive officer of PGI said, “David is a proven leader who will play a critical role as we work with our customers to advance and create specialty materials that help make the world safer, cleaner and healthier. His appointment reflects our continued commitment and investment in the region for future growth and innovation as a global industry leader.”

Most recently, Wang was the president of Asia for Dover Corporation’s Pump Solutions Group, a $9 billion diversified global manufacturer of equipment and specialized systems. In this role, he grew the division more than four times through various strong growth initiatives, developing new business and strengthening the organization. Prior to that, he was the general manager of Greater China for SPX Corporation, a Fortune 500 multi-industry global business with $6 billion in annual turnover.
