Almost six months after ITMA Barcelona, Picanol can look back on a very successful market-introduction of weaving-solutions for technical fabrics.
The super wide OptiMax flexible rapier machine equipped with positive grippers attracted lots of interest from technical and other weavers alike looking for more flexibility and user friendliness. At the show already, several contracts for 540 cm wide machines were concluded for applications in coating fabrics, conveyor belt and carpet-backings. In the months after the show, positive gripper machines enjoyed many successes in both wide and smaller widths. The OptiMax positive gripper machine completes the offerings of Picanol's highly successful OptiMax platform. Stiff and bulky technical yarns can be inserted without problems and this at maximum industrial speeds.Almost six months after ITMA Barcelona, Picanol can look back on a very successful market-introduction of weaving-solutions for technical fabrics.

Another novelty, the OMNIplus Summum airjet machine, was also shown at ITMA, where it was running a high-speed filament style at 2011 rpm, but also technical styles like parachute and car seat fabrics. The Summum (Latin for top, ultimate best) is the successor of the highly successful OMNI series of Picanol airjets. It features new, future-oriented electronics and a completely new insertion system featuring full electronic pressure regulation and a triple air tank for the relay nozzles. These boost operating speeds and lower power consumption while offering a widened application field. The Summum was running lengthy and extensive mill tests before its introduction at ITMA, confirming and even exceeding the targets the designers had in mind. The results were so convincing that customers decided to order already before mill tests were concluded, and the first industrial installations are running in the meantime. The Summum will steadily replace the actual Picanol OMNIplus 800.
