“I would like to thank Thomas for her contribution as chair and a director of Alexium. Thomas has worked tirelessly as chair over a period where the board and a new executive team have been delivering on a turnaround cornerstone strategy to commercialise our flame retardant and thermal regulation products,” said Garnon.
“I am honoured to have been appointed the new chair at an important time for Alexium, where we are building positive momentum. I am passionate about growing the business sustainably and am very excited about scaling our growth via partnership opportunities. In the coming days we expect to provide an update on the commercialisation of Alexiflam NF technologies, which together with our recent exclusivity agreement to supply Pine Belt with flame-retardant treatment for military applications, positions us for long-term growth,” added Garnon.
Alexium produced environmentally friendly flame retardants have applications for several industries and can be customised. Further, Alexium develops proprietary products for advanced thermoregulation utilising phase change materials. Alexium also holds patents for a process developed initially by the US department of defense, which allows for the surface modification and attachment of nanoparticles or multiple chemical functional groups to surfaces or substrates to provide fire retardancy and various additional functionalities. Applications under development include but are not limited to textiles, packaging, electronics, and building materials. Alexium’s chemical treatments are currently marketed as Alexicool and Alexiflam. (PC)
