Ninety per cent of the garments in these lines have been designed with recycled materials using highly technical textiles, like Primaloft Gold Pure or Stormfleece Pro, to provide a highly technical, functional and sustainable range of products designed in collaboration with professionals who have experience on the ground, the company said in a media release.
The Protech Rakaposhi jacket and pants stand out, which were introduced in the 2022 fall winter collection but are now available in new colours. Designed with Shoeller Aerobrane (10k/90k), a recycled textile with a membrane that is extremely strong and multi-elastic, is impermeable and transpirable at the same time and provides maximum protection against adverse climates. They were initially and especially developed for Japanese mountaineers Ternua Kazuya Hiraide and Kenro Nakajima (2020 Piolet d'Or prize), so they meet all the technical requirements of climbers and mountaineers.
In parallel, there are other very notable new products in this line, for example the Amphu JKT, which is a very light hooded jacket that has Primaloft Gold Lux insulation that is focused on fast winter activities. It combines an incredible packing capacity, transpirability and softness. In addition, it has excellent water repellency to protect athletes in humid climates. It is perfect for activities where weight is a major factor.
The Sharpu JKT is also notable. It is perfect for using as a second layer or outer layer in good conditions. The outside is manufactured with a water resistant recycled Pertex Quantum textile (PFC free DWR). And a lightweight but strong 10D recycled polyamide lining has been used for the inside. It uses 80 g of primaloft gold insulation P.U.R.E technology for insulation, that provides a high degree of insulation even in wet conditions because it uses a new manufacturing technology based on air instead of oven heat to produce the PrimaLoft insulation. The result is a significant reduction in carbon emissions. It's extremely lightweight and compactible, completely breathable and an excellent windbreaker.
Lastly, within Protech Ternua designed the Jugal JKT, which is made with a sustainable brushed and bi-elastic Storm fleece textile that provides high wind and water resistance with a PFC free DWR. It is extremely comfortable, warm and breathable and it has an articulated pattern for greater freedom of movement and a compatible hood that is 3D adjustable and can be used with a helmet.
In the Fall-Winter 2022/2023 Adrenalite line Ternua already included the intermediate Rush Top layer. It is highly versatile and made with the Dryshell Breathe textile, which is elastic, lightweight and very breathable, in addition to being sustainable because the textile is 100 per cent recycled from PET plastic bottles.
On the other hand, Cyclone JKT, which replaces the Neutrino JKT, is one of Ternua's best sellers in the line in recent years. All the properties of the Neutrino JKT have been passed on to this model, like impermeability - transpirability 20/20, which is very compressive and has reflective details. However, the new jacket is made with 2.5 layer recycled Shelltec Active Flex.s Insofar as pants, the highly technical and tight fitting Race PT stand out. They're made with brushed and bi-elastic Storm fleece textile that provides high resistance to wind and water and a lot of transpirability and thermal insulation. They have articulated knees for better freedom of movement, an athletic waist that can be adjusted using an elastic cord and zippers at the bottom of the leg so they can be used with wider boots. The textile is recycled from post-consumer PET plastic bottles.
Another model that has been renewed is the multi-functional Stowe Pant. The strategic distribution of Shellstretch and Thermo Roubaix textile technologies give the pants warmth, transpirability and great freedom of movement and it makes them quick drying.
And, lastly, as fresh and alternative garments, Ternua has included Agile Berm and Agile Skirt in Adrenalite, which have layers of insulation that are wind and water resistant and are focused on activities like downhill or cross-country skiing. The outside is made with recycled water resistant (PFC free DWR) Pertex Quantum textile and they have a lightweight yet strong recycled polyamide lining inside. The insulation is 80 g of Primaloft Gold Insulation P.U.R.E technology, which provides a high degree of insulation even in wet conditions. They can be opened on the sides with zippers, so they can be taken off or put on quickly while doing the activity.
There are other, very technical, sustainable and easy to combine, layers that complement those highlights so athletes can dress for the activity they are going to be doing with functional, versatile clothes that protect them from inclement weather and, at the same time, protect the planet.
