Gurit, a worldwide leading supplier of composite materials, structural engineering and composite processing for the global Wind Energy market, will be exhibiting at the forthcoming HUSUM WindEnergy exhibition (Husum, Germany) from Tuesday 18th - Saturday 22nd September 2012. Exhibiting on stand 2G04, Gurit will be showcasing its latest product innovations for the Wind Energy market, including SparPreg featuring Airstream Technology, and updates to the RENUVO product range.
SparPreg featuring Airstream coating technology, available in advanced glass and carbon fibres, is a specialised prepreg developed to enable the economic manufacture of high quality UD spar caps for most demanding blade designs. Airstream products address the fundamental problem of creating a very high quality, low void content laminate without the use of expensive automated equipment or a temperature controlled environment. With fast deposition rates and no requirement for intermediate de-bulking steps, glass and carbon prepreg technology is now readily accessible for all wind turbine blade manufacturers.Gurit, a worldwide leading supplier of composite materials, structural engineering and composite processing for the global Wind Energy market, will be exhibiting at the forthcoming HUSUM WindEnergy #
Main benefits include:
• Excellent handling and mould conformance characteristics up to 35°C
• Extremely low void content in any thickness without the need for cold lay-up or de-bulking
• Low exotherm resin matrix enabling low Tg infusion grade tooling
• Suitable for automated lay-up
• Long shelf-life over 3 months at 35°C
The RENUVO composite technology offers a fresh and novel approach to not only the maintenance and repair of today's wind turbine blades, but also to the blade manufacturing and finishing process. RENUVO uses UV light from specially designed lamp equipment to achieve full cure in just a few minutes.
RENUVO Finishing System (FS) can be used for small surface defects and finishing of structural repairs and can be used in conjunction with other RENUVO products. Supplied in a cartridge, as a single component system, RENUVO FS shares many of the handling and cure characteristics of RENUVO Multi-Purpose System (MPS), but with the added advantages of being easy to sand and can be used in direct sunlight, with working times of up to 5 minutes.
RENUVO Wet Laminating (WL) is specifically developed for wind turbine blade manufacturers' in-factory applications and has been formulated to behave like a traditional wet laminating system, ideally suited for infusion repairs and leading and trailing edge finishing processes. RENUVO™ WL is supplied as a single-component in formats to suit the volume requirements. RENUVO WL can also be used for in-field repairs where shelter from sunlight is possible.
Gurit will also be displaying its extended core offering for the wind energy market, which includes Corecell, G-PET, PVCell and Balsaflex, as well as Velinox, Gurit's new resin system. Staff from the sales, technical and marketing teams will be available at the show to discuss this year's product portfolio.
