The five-year partnership will deliver an estimated savings of $2 million by driving distribution efficiencies across more than 50 surgical facilities nationwide over the term of the agreement.
“Medline’s supply chain expertise and manufacturer-direct approach will improve service to our facilities and help reduce overall costs,” said Cliff Adlerz, president and chief operating officer, Symbion. “Healthcare is local and this agreement will provide a new level of flexibility that will ultimately enhance our quality of care.”
Medline, with 37 distribution centers strategically located throughout the United States, will provide its broad assortment of Medline and national brand products directly to Symbion’s surgical facilities around the country.
Medline will also deliver cost savings and efficiencies by driving product standardization and utilization solutions, as well as providing enhanced reporting capabilities to help facilities better monitor and control costs. The agreement is expected to be worth approximately $70 million over the course of the deal.
