T.E.A.M., Inc., an innovative weaver of 2D and 3D fabrics and net shape preforms for composites applications, announced today that it has acquired certain assets of carbon fabric weaver Elite Carbon Fabrics, LLC. The acquisition includes equipment and some raw material.

Separately, T.E.A.M. has hired key personnel, including Andrew Hickson, and leased Elite's former manufacturing facility located in Vacaville, California.

“T.E.A.M. has been evaluating ways to better support and expand our customer base in key markets, including the west coast, for some time now” said Steve Clarke, T.E.A.M.'s co-founder and President. “This transaction not only increases our manufacturing capacity, but will also provide T.E.A.M. with a local facility to support an expanding west coast customer base.”

Plans are to immediately restart manufacturing operations as Textile Engineering and Manufacturing (T.E.A.M.) – West Coast Division. According to Jerry Moore, T.E.A.M.'s cofounder and Vice President, “The West Coast operation will initially focus on high quality 2D woven fabric roll goods and provide a distribution point for other T.E.A.M. products.”

T.E.A.M. is an ISO-9001 and AS9100C certified weaver of 2D fabrics and tapes, 3D woven fabrics and billets, and net shape engineered preforms for resin transfer molding (RTM), infusion and ceramic matrix composite (CMC) applications. “With the addition of Elite's manufacturing capabilities, T.E.A.M., now has overall 2D weaving capacity in excess of 800,000 yards annually and is better positioned to support the composites marketplace nationwide,” offered Mr. Clarke.

T.E.A.M., Inc., started in 1995 and headquartered in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, is an innovative textile engineering and manufacturing company equipped to produce a wide range of 2D and 3D woven textile products, typically for use in composites applications. T.E.A.M. offers complete textile product development and prototyping services in addition to volume recurring production.

T.E.A.M. specializes in difficult to handle fibers such as carbon, ceramics, aramids, glass, quartz, and metallics for novel aerospace, military and industrial end-uses.
