The Teijin Group, one of the world’s leading high-performance fibre manufacturers, is exhibiting a wide range of high-performance composite products at the ongoing three-day JEC Europe 2015 exhibition in Paris, scheduled to end on March 12, 2015.

The Teijin exhibit at hall 7.3, booth M17/K18 is being organised by the Toho Tenax Group and Teijin Composites Innovation Center (TCIC), the group’s core carbon-fibres businesses, Teijin Aramid B.V., the group’s core aramid-fibres business, and Teijin Kasei Europe B.V., the group’s core resin and plastic business.

The Toho Tenax Group is featuring its newly developed TENAX thermoplastics, called TPUD and TPCL, and TENAX Part via Preform (PvP, a resin transfer moulding (RTM) production method using net shape preforms manufactured with highly efficient carbon-fibre placement technologies, Teijin said in a statement.

TTG is also presenting TENAX Dry Reinforcements, a lightweight, non-crimp-fabric, and TENAX Rapid Curing Prepreg (RCP). RCP, which is a press-moulding prepreg increases the productivity of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) manufacturing and is suitable for structural uses and high surface applications.

Additionally, Diversified Structural Composites, an affiliate of Toho Tenax America, Inc., is exhibiting pultrusion parts, including complex linear profiles, rods, tubes, flats and complex geometries. TCIC is presenting Sereebo, the world’s first mass-production technology for thermoplastic CFRP, which improves production efficiency by significantly reducing moulding time to less than one minute.

Teijin Aramid B.V. is also displaying Twaron black, the first high-modulus black para-aramid yarn, along with Technora, an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE).

Twaron or Technora are used in applications requiring stiffness, strength, damage tolerance or great aesthetics, such as leisure boat hulls and sails, hockey sticks, motorcycle helmets, and other sporting goods.

Teijin Kasei Europe B.V. is demonstrating several plastic glazing parts made from Polycarbonate (PC) and PC/ABS. Polycarbonate (PC) Panlite and PC/ABS Multilon glazing realizes weight reduction, and further requirements such as scratch and UV resistance are offered by Teijin’s special coating systems. Multilon is a popular material for achieving high impact resistance and dimensional stability. (GK)
