TeXtreme, market leader in Spread Tow reinforcements, introduces a concept that focuses on achieving weight savings with keeping the total cost of the composite part the same. In order to further clarify the position and capacity for handling large volume contracts the TeXtreme Industrial concept has been added to the portfolio.

“We are very happy to see the ever-growing interest for TeXtreme and that more understand the full potential of this kind of materials. As a natural step to further educate in the possibilities and putting the focus on the larger picture we introduced this volume concept where we always look at the total cost of the composite part and work closely with the customer to fulfill all their needs, in any volume. We feel very confident that we, as a market leader in the Spread Tow category and with more than 10 years’ experience in this field, have both the capacity and the knowledge to produce this type of materials” says Henrik Blycker, CEO of Oxeon.

Spread Tow reinforcements is a type of composite reinforcements based on novel technologies rendering a material that gives unique possibilities for weight savings and performance improvements as well as possibilities for cost- and time savings when looking at the total cost of the composite, rather than just compare price per sqm. Through reduced amount of material and labor time by using fewer plies and the superior surface smoothness also rendering substantial time savings this can all be achieved simultaneously as saving weight, etc.

Andreas Martsman, Vice President – Marketing & Sales of Oxeon, says: “During the early years when TeXtreme was introduced it was mostly used in smaller series of high-end products because of its unprecedented performance. Nowadays with customers buying in larger volumes and with established technologies the price levels are very competitive for lightweight reinforcements. In addition our knowledge and experience in reinforcement optimization and processing regularly helps achieving cost savings, looking at the total cost of the composite.

“The image that TeXtreme would not be competitive in cost per part comparison is simply not accurate. We prove over and over again that TeXtreme help our customers increase their margins both by being able to charge more for added value and by reducing cost per part” Mr. Martsman further states.
