TissueGen, a developer of cutting-edge absorbable polymer technology for implantable drug delivery, is set to unveil its biodegradable Elute fibre for advanced drug delivery, nerve regeneration, and tissue engineering applications at MD&M West, MedTechWorld’s expo to be held at Anaheim Convention Center Anaheim, CA.

The company uses a patented, cutting edge room temperature extrusion process to enable Elute fibres to be loaded with the widest variety of drugs and biologically-based entities possible for targeted delivery directly to internal sites. Elute fibres are available in pharmaceutical and growth factor formats ideal for a wide variety of medical and research applications including spinal cord injury repair, tissue engineering and nerve regeneration.

TissueGen’s technology is currently being applied by regenerative neurobiology experts from the University of Texas at Dallas towards an innovative model for nerve regeneration that could improve current nerve repair strategies to optimize the regeneration of injured neurons and the recovery of function in patients suffering from paralysis without requiring tissue to be harvested from elsewhere in the patient’s body.

TissueGen has more than four decades of cumulative experience in extruding biodegradable polymer fibres with broad drug delivery capabilities well-suited for advanced drug delivery, nerve regeneration, and tissue engineering. (GK)
