UL-STR, an independent provider of quality assurance (QA) testing, audit, inspection and responsible sourcing services for the consumer products industry, will present two textile seminars – "An Introduction to Colour Management, Colour Appearance and Assessment" on August 15, 2012 and "An Introduction to Fabric and Garment Testing" on August 22, 2012 – at its UK laboratory in Nottingham. The textile training courses are part of an ongoing seminar series on the latest QA issues being offered at UL-STR's UK offices.
"An Introduction to Colour Management, Colour Appearance and Assessment" (August 15, 2012, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., cost £50) will cover hands-on information related to colour and its application to textiles. Attendees will learn how to make accurate visual colour decisions, avoid common colour mistakes, and visually evaluate colour more effectively to communicate colour needs to suppliers and manufacturing units. "An Introduction to Fabric and Garment Testing" (August 22, 2012, 9:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., cost £75) will review garment supply chains testing and the types of tests needed to meet international requirements for the main global markets. Attendees will learn about current global quality assurance practices and commercial awareness. Joanne Brown, a textile testing specialist with 25 years of experience, will present the seminar.
