Ametek Surface Vision will join other innovative business leaders in demonstrating its products and solutions for this demanding industry. Flexible and customisable, Ametek Surface Vision’s SmartView system uses the most advanced inspection technologies, combining cutting-edge software and rugged, proven hardware to deliver precise real-time detection and classification in nonwovens. SmartView is easy to expand or upgrade to meet the challenges of materials inspection and changing customer requirements. It uses the most appropriate light and camera configurations for the application, delivering real-time results, the company said in a press release.
Alongside SmartView, Ametek Surface Visions’ SmartAdvisor provides synchronised real-time process monitoring and inspection. It is a versatile, easy-to-use vision system that provides high- speed, multi-dimensional video monitoring and process analysis in nonwovens. SmartView’s advanced classification can be configured to trigger an event capture across multiple SmartAdvisor data points on the production line. As a result, the operator can rely on multiple views and data points to rapidly analyse and determine the root cause of a defect or process upset and take corrective action.
In addition, the Advanced Winder Advisor (AWA) allows operators to accurately and repeatedly stop winders to remove defects while increasing winder efficiency. AWA is designed to seamlessly integrate with SmartView, creating a closed-loop quality control solution on the nonwoven production line. Utilising AWA with SmartView improves process optimisation. It reduces operational costs by minimising the need for manual inspections, provides automatic stops at critical defect points, and delivers inspection data in a simple, fast format. This results in a more thorough and objective grading of the material, Ametek said in a statement.
“IDEA22 will be a great opportunity for the industry to get together and discuss innovations, plus the challenges we are all facing. We’re also looking forward to meeting end users and discussing how our systems can partner with them for fast and accurate materials checking and inspection,” Volker Koelmel, Surface Vision’s global manager – plastics, nonwovens and paper, said, in a statement.
