Time and again, nonwovens manufacturer J.H. Ziegler launches surprising new products, and such developments will be showcased at Techtextil.

There are two new developments for seat applications, our core activity area:
HACOflex LT – the first foam/nonwoven composite that can be laminated onto leather without heat and which nevertheless satisfies automotive requirements, particularly in climate tests. Previous HACO-flex products are laminated by applying heat and a little pressure. Although this process is very gentle on the leather, the new HACOflex products are even better at maintaining its original properties. The composite does not shrink during the pressure-based laminating process. The grain and sheen of the leather are retained so that non-laminated leather parts can be sewn together with parts laminated with HACOflex LT.

The range for seating applications has been supplemented with a novel antibacterial nonwoven that is particularly suitable for use underneath perforated leather to protect the seat assembly against infiltrating bacteria and to increase seat hygiene. The test results from the independent Hohenstein Laboratories, Schloss Hohenstein, have confirmed its antibacterial properties.

The technical approval for construction products issued for HACObond confirms the good human compatibility of this insulating material, which is available in thicknesses of up to 300 mm. It can also be laminated for visual applications. The technical approval also confirms the excellent acoustic properties of the HACObond products. Furthermore, the very low thermal conductivities lead to a very good rating for the CO2 balance of these products.

By expanding our capacity in Hungary, we can now offer our range from both locations, allowing us to react quickly and flexibly to customer requests. Integration of both factories is so advanced that we can shift production in a very short time.

The new and very versatile laminating line in the Achern factory enables Ziegler to supply not only very thick but also very smooth nonwovens that are suitable for printing. Alternatively, different types of products can be combined or nonwovens can be laminated with very thin special films. Ziegler is very open to the requirements from all kinds of markets. Natural fibre fabrication at the Lambrecht factory was modernised this year, enabling us to manufacture natural fibre nonwovens for visible applications.

Ziegler has developed into a globally operating company in recent years. In 2012, a branch office was opened in China to deal with the local market. This is the first step towards localisation in this growth market. Activities have also been intensified in North and Central America to comply with the demand, particularly from the automotive industry among others, for a global market presence.
