Autoliv named Safety Supplier of the Year by Ford

Autoliv, the worldwide leader in automotive safety systems, has earned Ford Motor Company’s 2014 Safety Supplier of the Year and 2014 Gold Supplier of the Year for its facility in La Pobla de Vallbona, Spain.

Ford’s 17th Annual World Excellence Awards recognize suppliers that exceed the company’s expectations and distinguish themselves from their peers by achieving the highest levels of global excellence in quality, cost, performance, and delivery.

Autoliv’s facility in Spain conducts deployments, tests, and manufactures products that save lives, including driver and passenger airbags, side airbags and inflatable curtain airbags. The honour is the second for the facility, which also won the Ford World Excellence Gold Award in 2013, according to a company release.

Jan Carlson, Autoliv chairman, CEO, and president said, “The foundation of our success is our passion for saving lives, our continuous innovation of new technologies and strong focus on quality. Ford continues to be a valued customer of ours and it is with great pride and appreciation that we accept this recognition.”
