Ahmedabad-based Dhama Apparel Innovations Pvt Ltd, recently developed a unique jacket, named the ClimaGear.
Mr Prasenjit Kundu told Fibre2fashion, "This is a heating-cooling that works on the principle of 'peltier effect' with the use of 'thermo electrics'. The jacket is run by batteries, and once fully charged it is expected to last for 8 hours."
Mr Kundu is Apparel design student from NID, working as a designer in this project, alongside Mr Kranthi Kiran Vistakula (Innovator of the Technology), CEO and Founder of Dhama Innovations.
Mr Prasenjit informed, "We are using some Special fabrics at different layer of the jacket and other products. Water repellent and stain proof fabrics are used for the outer layer which is washable. And for inner layer we are using special moisture management and breathable fabrics."
Though he declined to provide specific technical knowledge, Mr Kundu said, "The user can control the temperature as per his or her need. The temperature rage provided in the jacket would be 18 to 30 degrees celsius. Wearer can keep a comfortable temperature inside the jacket while being in any extreme weather conditions."
