The new technologies are designed to alleviate key challenges faced in high-pressure die casting operations, by providing excellent solder protection and extended tooling life. The new family of polymers greatly minimises ex-cavity buildup and runs extremely clean on dies, resulting in less downtime and higher-quality rates due to lower levels of porosity, said Chem-Trend in a press release.
“By blending this entire series of unique proprietary polymers with other specialty materials, we’re able to create superior custom-formulated products. These customised solutions help die casters achieve the highest level of processing efficiencies and optimise profitability in a competitive die cast market,” said Andrea Colori, Chem-Trend’s European business director – Die Cast. “The technology in these polymers is highly effective — leading to more efficient die cooling, hot die adhesion, and enhanced solder protection. Customers can use less spray lubricant with shorter cycle times, thus improving operational efficiency and profitability.”
The new die lubricant technology continues Chem-Trend’s long tradition of bringing innovative breakthroughs to the industry. In 1960, Chem-Trend produced the first ever water-based lubricant, and in 1990 was the first release agent company to be awarded with the ISO 9001 certification. (PC)
