Russian company ArcticTex has launched a climbing jacket made with OCSiAI’s graphene nanotubes. The jacket got heated up in 40 seconds during tests on Mount Everest. Each jacket contains around 10 milligrams of nanotubes. It turns the fabric into a heating element. OCSiAI, based in Luxembourg, is a leading manufacturer of single wall carbon nanotubes.

Ireland’s Aran Biomedical has expanded its weaving capabilities to include the condensing of high-density woven fabric. It combines Aran’s existing compression techniques with dense woven fabric, allowing for the same material characteristics despite the thickness being reduced by 50 per cent. Nice-Pak International, which produces wipes for global brands and retailers, has been working with customers to cut out plastic from more than 60 per cent of its products, up from less than 10 per cent in 2018. The UK-based manufacturer is heading towards a plastic-free future, having removed more than 15,000 tonnes in the last three years.
