Continental Structural Plastics (CSP), a US-based Teijin Group company and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of composite components, has announced that it is expanding its facility in Sarepta, Louisiana in the US, with the purchase of an LFT-D line that includes a Dieffenbacher press with a pressing force of 2,500 tonnes (25,000 kN).

Arkema will start producing Amino 11 and its flagship Rilsan polyamide 11 high performance polymer at its new plant on Jurong Island, Singapore in the first half of next year. Construction of the plant has begun. Production will be 100 per cent-based on renewable castor beans. This will increase Arkema’s global polyamide 11 capacity by 50 per cent.

Continuous Composites, a composites additive manufacturer, is collaborating with Saint-Gobain, a French manufacturer and distributor of high-performance solutions, to advance and certify Continuous Composites’ patented Continuous Fibre 3D Printing (CF3D) for commercial aerospace applications.
