EDANA, the international association for nonwovens and related industries, has announced the nominees for the Index 17 awards for “Excellence in the nonwovens and related industries, to be held at Index 17, global meeting place for players in nonwovens supply chain and their customers, on April 4, 2017, the opening day of the expo, in Geneva, Switzerland.
The nominees in the Nonwoven Roll Goods category are Atex – 3D Scrubbing Spunbond, Berry Plastics – NuviSoft, and Jacob Holm & Sons – SoftFlush. Nominees in Raw materials or components, of special relevance to the nonwovens industry and related converted products category include H.B. Fuller – Conforma, Henkel – Technomelt, and Magic – Spongel. Nominees in Innovation in machinery of special relevance to the nonwovens industry category include Autefa Solutions – V- Jet Injector and GDM - Rear Wing Zero Waste.
Hassan Group-Self Sufficient Relief Tents is nominated in the Sustainable Product category. Mobi-Air-Mobi-Chill and Suominen Corporation- Blind Hiring recruitment process are nominated in the Sustainable process or management practice category.
EDANA’s Index 17 awards are the highest accolade for the best examples of excellence in the industry, highlighting creativity and innovations from businesses of all sizes, and from all parts of the nonwovens supply chain.
The Index 17 awards jury, comprised of a former senior nonwovens entrepreneur and manager, a representative of the nonwovens industry trade press, an international independent consultant and two top academic nonwovens R&D experts, met in January to select the nominees, if any, in each of the 8 awards categories, and to choose, from this group, the winner which will remain undisclosed until the 4th April awards ceremony.
Companies could submit only one product or process application per category, and products must have been commercially available as on January 31, 2017. Additionally, products or campaigns must not have been commercially launched before April 2014. (GK)
