EDANA has launched a new award for the nonwovens industry, specifically aimed at the Asia Pacific region.

EDANA said Asia Pacific includes Australia, New Zealand and the Indian subcontinent and that nominations can be from any point along the supply chain.
EDANA added that all submissions should be entered into the electronic web form by the close of UK business hours on November 7.
Short-listed finalists will then be given the opportunity to present their product or service at the conference, and delegates will be asked to vote for their preferred company. The winner will be announced at a ceremony of the Outlook Asia conference.
“EDANA is keen to provide companies located in, or manufacturing products for the Asia Pacific markets, giving those leading companies a platform to showcase their innovative products or services.” said Abby Bailey from EDANA.
She added, “Outlook Asia has already been established as a must-attend event for innovative companies based or with an interest in Asia Pacific, and is recognised as connecting the fast-growing nonwovens industries across the continent.”
In its second edition, Outlook Asia is part of the EDANA global outreach programme to extend the reach of its established events to new markets, and offers a unique conference and networking event for the nonwovens personal care products industry, with a two-day event in Singapore.

Opening the event with a keynote address will be Mr Martin Riant, Group President, Global Baby, Feminine & Family Care, Procter & Gamble, speaking on “Key Opportunities and Challenges Facing Absorbent Hygiene Products Market Growth in Emerging and Developing Markets”.
Other papers include, “Overview and Problems of China Disposable Hygiene Products Industry” from CNHPIA - China, “Consumer Perceptions of Disposable Hygiene Products” from Bostik – China and “A Multifactorial Chemical/Sensory Approach for the Odour Characterization of Personal Care Products” from Odournet Holding – India.
John Pollaro Consulting from USA will present a paper on “Assessing Patent Risk To Make Better Business Decisions, “Understanding Japanese Companies’ Recent Moves in the Rest of Asia Along the Nonwovens Value Chain” from Schlegel and Partners – Germany.
On the second day, Strategic Access Limited from Hong-Kong will discuss on “How China is re-engineering the global economy”, “Adapting Absorbent Hygiene Products Design to Regional Consumer Preferences and Needs”, from Kimberly-Clark – Singapore and “SCA’s Approach to Sustainability” from SCA – China.
