Maitre passed away surrounded by his family in Gastonia, North Carolina on March 25, 2020, at the age of 81. Mitsui Chemicals has increased production facilities for meltblown nonwovens at its wholly owned subsidiary Sunrex Industry. The operations at the new facilities began in January. The expansion comes in response to growing demand for industrial-use meltblown nonwovens, and will increase the group’s production capacity for these materials by 50 per cent.
