ASICS to launch smart shoes in partnership with nnf

ASICS is developing a range of smart shoes in partnership with Japanese start-up and sensor technology developers no new folk studio (nnf). This was announced by ASICS at the ongoing CES 2020 where it is showcasing the ASICS Energy Research Lab. The collaboration will fuse nnf's precise, multi-dimensional sensors with ISS's expertise in human movement.

ITRI, Xplova, Everest Textile to make fitness platform

The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Xplova, and Everest Textile have joined hands to develop a digital fitness platform. The three will develop innovative applications in smart sports and digital health around ITRI's iStimUweaR, a CES 2020 Innovation Awards Honouree. BMW iFE.20, first BMW race car using renewable fibres

BMW iFE.20 has become the first BMW race car which has parts made out of renewable textile fibres. Its flax cooling shaft emphasises its great importance as a tech lab for the BMW Group. Compared with carbon, flax has greater absorption and greater impact resistance, which can be advantageous on the street circuits with their bumps and crash barriers.

Around 500 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions displayed their latest products/technologies at the 18th Shanghai International Nonwovens Exhibition, held during December 11-13, 2019. Compared with previous years, more innovations were showcased in SINCE 2019. There were more spunlace related products, equipment, and nonwovens converted goods.

WHI takes over Aero-Bond Corporation

WHI Global, a portfolio company of RVE Partners, has taken over Aero-Bond Corporation through affiliated entity Aerobond Composites. Headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts, Aerobond is a manufacturer of composite structures and assemblies for aerospace and defence applications. The purchase enhances WHIs’ aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
