Safran to get Halar ECTFE film from Solvay

Solvay, an advanced materials and specialty chemicals company, will supply Halar ECTFE high performance film for Safran's LEAP engine acoustic panels. The two have signed an agreement in this connection. Film made from Halar ECTFE with additional plasma treatment provides excellent adhesion to composite substrates and superior aesthetic surface aspects.

AEC to take part in Airbus' Wing of Tomorrow programme

Albany International has become part of Airbus' Wing of Tomorrow programme. For this, Albany International's subsidiary, Albany Engineered Composites (AEC), has signed a two-year Collaborative Research Agreement (CRA) with Airbus under which Albany's 3D reinforced composites technology will be applied to next generation wing substructure applications.

Autoliv develops airbag specifically to avoid side impacts

Autoliv Inc, the worldwide leader in vehicle safety systems, has announced the development of a new front centre airbag designed to save lives in side-impact crash situations.
