Shanghai Shenda and International Automotive Components (IAC) Group have jointly formed Auria Solutions, a new supplier of soft trim and acoustical products for automotive industry. Shenda has a 70 per cent stake in the joint venture and IAC has a 30 per cent interest. The UK-based Auria will have its regional headquarters in Southfield and Dusseldorf.

Hexion, a leader in thermoset resins, has developed a new epoxy resin system with low fire, smoke and toxicity (FST) properties built into the resin structure, providing manufacturers a novel, homogeneous material for use in composite parts for aircraft interiors, marine, rail and architectural applications. Natural spider silk has excellent mechanical properties. Researchers from the Graphene Flagship have increased the strength of spider’s silk using graphene-based materials. The spider silk incorporating graphene and carbon nanotubes had enhanced mechanical properties of up to three times the strength and ten times the toughness of the unmodified silks.
