The Hon. John D. Reynolds, a former West Vancouver, British Columbia MP, has joined Garmatex Technologies, Inc. as Chairman of its Advisory Board.

Reynolds' objective at the Vancouver-based research and development-oriented fabric manufacturing company is to help develop new business partnerships between Garmatex and commercial, institutional and industrial firms requiring its scientifically engineered fabrics.

Reynolds, who began his political career in 1972 and has also served as Director of numerous Public companies, with businesses around the world, (including International Corona Resources, which made one of the largest gold discoveries in North America), decided to join Garmatex in the fall of 2013 after a colleague directed his attention to the organization.

Reynolds joins Garmatex at an exciting time for the Company. "Our momentum is building towards an anticipated IPO and further capital raises, with the proceeds geared towards boosting our manufacturing, sales and marketing capabilities," says Garmatex Chief Executive Officer Martin Doane.

Garmatex's fabrics, designs and technologies, branded as Kottinu , CoolSkin, WarmSkin, Satinu , ColdSkin , T3, Bact-Out, SteelSkin , SlimSkin , CamoSkin, RecoverySkin , AbsorbSkin   and IceSkin provide best-in-class temperature and moisture management performance, resilience, bacteria-repelling properties and comfort.

Garmatex fabric is unique because the Company's research and development team has redefined the foundation of microfiber filament construction.  Garmatex also controls the manufacturing process from the raw grain stage, through filament extrusion, knitting or weaving, and dyeing and setting.

Garmatex's ability to manipulate its man-made fiber on a molecular level to suit different end uses means it can develop solutions for a wide variety of clients. To date it has created everything from a high-performance alternative to cotton undergarment fabric worn by firefighters, to sleepwear that keeps users cool at night.

Doane points out that his Company's versatility enables it to be a solutions provider to clients in sectors as diverse as medicine, law enforcement, automotive, hospitality - you name it." Garmatex's research and development team mixes and matches hundreds of microfiber filaments and experiments with different knitting techniques and anti-bacterial processes to engineer solutions for clients.

Better still, because Garmatex works directly with clients to develop end product, the traditional costly and time-consuming practice of procuring fabric through overseas intermediaries is eliminated. "We're changing the fabric market terrain in many fundamental ways, and the big winner is the client," says Doane.
