W.L. Gore & Associates, a producer of functional textile fabrics, has bagged the 17th rank at the 18th 2015 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For List.

Gore was selected among hundreds of companies vying for the 2015 honour. It is one of the only 12 companies that have ranked among the 100 best each year since Fortune began publishing the list in 1998.

Applicant companies opt to participate in the selection process, which includes an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about their programs and company practices. Great Place to Work then evaluates each application using its unique methodology based on five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie, according to a statement.

Gore CEO Terri Kelly said, “Gore has a work environment that fosters communication and collaboration, so it not only contributes to great work relationships, but it empowers associates and teams to work together to achieve strong business results.”

Great Place to Work says that organizations named on the list see many benefits that include better financial performance, less employee turnover, higher levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty, more innovative and creative thinking, higher productivity, and enhanced public perception.

Well known for waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX fabric, Gore’s portfolio includes everything from high-performance fabrics and implantable medical devices to industrial manufacturing components and aerospace electronics.

Through proprietary assessment tools, advisory services and employer branding programs, including Best Companies lists and workplace reviews, Great Place to Work provides the benchmarks, framework, and expertise needed to create, sustain, and recognize outstanding workplace cultures.
