Compiled by the Great Place to Work Institute, the ranking is the world's largest annual study of workplace excellence and identifies the 25 best multinational companies in terms of workplace culture.
For more than 50 years, Gore has cultivated a corporate culture that fosters the innovative spirit of individuals and teams. Associates play an active role in choosing what they work on and defining their career paths. There is no need to operate through chains of command, and decisions are based on knowledge rather than seniority.
In addition to its non-hierarchical, team-based culture, Gore is known for its diverse product innovations, including waterproof GORE-TEX fabric, life-saving cardiovascular devices, filtration technologies and electronic cables used in space missions, among hundreds of other offerings.
"When people work in an environment that empowers them to make a difference, their creativity is unleashed. Ultimately, this leads to the development of innovative products that perform in the most demanding environments," said Gore CEO Terri Kelly. "Our nontraditional culture is more than just a 'nice to have.' It fuels our success."
China Gorman, CEO of Great Place to Work, added, "The companies listed on the third-annual World's Best Multinational Workplaces list are creating workplaces dedicated to fostering trust, pride and camaraderie amongst their employees. Their inclusion on this prestigious list demonstrates their commitment to continually improving the lives of their employees and setting innovative new standards for workplaces of the future."
