W. L. Gore & Associates, a developer of Gore-Tex high performance fabric technologies has named Nora Stowell as global sales leader of footwear, gloves and accessories.

“Nora brings a lifetime passion for the outdoors and so intimately understands the role of our technology,” said Achim Loeffler, global business leader - footwear at Gore.
“In addition, she has worked for many of our customers, and understands the various stages of introducing components and the features and benefits for manufacturers, retailers and consumers,” he added.
Stowell, highly regarded for her key successes, previously held leadership positions at Amer Sports managing sales for Arc'teryx, Atomic, Salomon, Suunto and Mavic.
According to Gore, Stowell will be honoured as the winner of the 2016 Pioneering Woman award by the Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition in January at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market.
Recipients of this award are honoured for their significant achievements in the outdoor industry, while working toward greater diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
She is currently the vice chairman of the executive committee for the Outdoor Industry Association board of directors and is also an avid alpine and cross country skier, road and mountain biker, trail runner and surfer.
Gore's portfolio includes everything from high-performance fabrics and implantable medical devices to industrial manufacturing components and aerospace electronics.
