ICERP- JEC Innovation Awards Programme 2011: 8 companies rewarded for their innovations

For the second time, composite companies operating in India were invited to take part in a competition aiming to promote innovation. Stemming from a partnership between the ICERP-FRP Insitute team and the JEC Group, the second ICERP-JEC Innovation Awards programme were presented on Thursday 3 March 2011 in Mumbai as part of the 5th Indian composites show, ICERP 2011.

ICERP and JEC Composites are announcing the new winners of the ICERP-JEC Innovation Awards Programme 2011. This year, 8 companies and their partners received awards at the ICERP Show, March 2-4, 2011. The programme was created in 2008 with the goal of promoting innovation. A jury of renowned international experts chooses the best composite innovations, based on their technical interest, market potential, partnership, financial impact and originality (30 applications this year). Winner in the Category Research & Technical Center: RV-TIFAC Composites Design Centre for its Craft paper honeycomb

Winner in the Category Raw Material: Crest Composites & Plastics Pvt. Ltd. for its thickenable vinyl ester for high temperature resistance properties for improved fuel efficiency in automobiles.

Winner in the Category Process & Equipment: Mechemco Group for its FRP mold making process

Winner in the Category Telecom & Electronics: Kemrock Industries & Exports Ltd. for its Composite telecom tower

Winner in the Category Building & Construction: Lancer Reinforcements Pvt. Ltd. for its recreated wood and stone

Winner in the Category Industrial & Chemical: Mahindra Composites Ltd. for its Monolithic Carbon Fiber Wind Mill Blade

Winner in the Category Defense: Suvarna Fibrotech Pvt. Ltd. for its improvement of habitat at high altitude areas for defence.

Winner in the Category Transportation: Mahindra Composites Ltd. for its Battery box for electrical LCV.
