The 2013 IFAI Advanced Textiles Conference & Trade Show will feature a keynote presentation by NASA professional Brooks Kimmel at the conference Oct. 23-25, 2013 in Orlando, Fla.

Wernher Von Braun, Father of American spaceflight once said, "in the space business, 99% perfection is equivalent to disaster." Kimmel utilizes this approach as he shares his insight in this captivating keynote presentation.

The program will focus on specific textiles and fabrics NASA has utilized in an effort to protect our astronauts and ground support personnel. According to Kimmel, "safety is about discovering where systemic problems may arise before they happen, so we can proactively resolve these issues and prevent disasters."

As a member of the NASA Speaker's Bureau since 2005, Kimmel both entertains and informs his audiences with a unique blend of humor, facts and experience. His diverse background includes protecting workers in the space industry from chemical and manufacturing hazards to  Deputy Director of Safety, Health and Mission Assurance to coaching football and track and leading troubled youth.

Accordingly, the trade show will feature an informative and fascinating aerospace display on the show floor including a flight suit and covers used to protect the space station. Programming for the Advanced Textiles Conference runs Tuesday, Oct 22 - Friday, Oct 25. Online registration is open. Click here to register.
