Prominent institutions, including IITs, NITs, and the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), are leading these research initiatives.
With this addition, the total number of projects under the Mission has reached 168, with an approximate funding of ₹509 crore (~$6.11 million).
Recently introduced Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) guidelines under the Mission are expected to further drive innovation, as Textile Minister Giriraj Singh urged the industry to engage actively in research projects to enhance local expertise in high-performance fibre development, Ministry of Textiles said in a media release.
The National Technical Textiles Mission remains a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Textiles, dedicated to bolstering India’s research and development (R&D) capabilities in the technical textile sector.
