“We are honored to be recognized by J.D. Power and new-vehicle owners in these segments,” said Jeff Williams, vice president and general manager, Complete Seat for Johnson Controls Automotive Seating. “This further demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with the highest-quality products.”
In the Mass Market Midsize/Large CUV segment, Johnson Controls supplies seats to the highest- and second-ranked models, the Toyota Venza and Hyundai Santa Fe. The Venza seats are manufactured at the company’s Georgetown, Ky. plant. The Santa Fe’s seats are made at its West Point, Ga. facility.
Johnson Controls also ranked highest in the Mass Market Truck/Van segment, with the seats it provides for the Ford F-250/F3-50 Super Duty. The seats for these trucks are manufactured at Johnson Controls’ Shelbyville, Ky. plant.
For each of the segments, the award for Highest Quality Seats is based on the total seat problems per 100 score reported by new-vehicle owners. The awards are presented to the seat supplier of the vehicle with the highest overall satisfaction score with the lowest number of problems per 100 vehicles in each segment.
New-vehicle owners are asked to rate the quality of their vehicle seats and seat belts based on whether or not they experienced defects/malfunctions or design problems during the first 90 days of ownership.
