Belgium’s Ontex posts revenue of €1,152 mn in H1 2022

Ontex’s total group revenue, including discontinued emerging markets was €1,152 million in the first half of 2022, went up 15 per cent LFL, driven by 6.6 per cent volume/mix and 8.4 per cent pricing, while adjusted EBITDA came in at €49 million, down 51 per cent year on year. The resulting EBITDA margin of 4.3 per cent was down 6.0pp year on year.

US’ Owens Corning’s sales rise 16% to $2.6 bn in Q2 FY22

Owens Corning, a global building and construction materials leader headquartered in the US, has reported net sales increase of 16 per cent to $2.6 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2022. Germany’s Naturamus, DITF working on textiles by recycling lavender

Natural cosmetics company Naturamus has teamed up with the University of Hohenheim to grow suitable lavender varieties in the Swabian Alps in Germany and devise eco-friendly ways to extract essential oil from them. US’ Ashland posts sales of $644 million in Q3 FY22

South African nonwoven textile sector workers to get 7% wage hike

The COSATU-affiliated SACTWU has now settled its 2022 wage negotiations with a seven per cent hike in the nonwoven textile sector. The agreement is part of a series of other wage settlements that the SACTWU has successfully achieved. The SACTWU had formally raised a dispute regarding wages for the nonwoven textile sector on June 17, 2022.
