Zund to showcase digital cutting solutions at JEC World 2023 in Paris

Zund will be attending JEC World 2023 in Paris from April 25–27, 2023, to present its latest developments in the field of modular, digital cutting solutions at the world’s leading tradeshow for the composites industry. US’ Optima Group’s nonwoven biz unit to be led by Dr Stefan Koenig

Optima Group, a leading manufacturer of packaging and filling machines, has announced that effective March 1, 2023, Dr Stefan Koenig, the managing director of Optima packaging group GmbH, will take over responsibility for the Optima Nonwovens business unit. Koenig will take over this responsibility from Hans Buehler, CEO of the Optima Group.

Finland’s researchers develop smart fabric that reacts to temp changes

Researchers at Aalto University and Cambridge University have collaborated to create new textiles that can alter their shape based on the temperature. Such responsive smart fabrics not only offer adjustable aesthetics but also assist in tracking people’s health, enhance thermal insulation, and provide new tools for controlling room acoustics and design.

Indian textile sector urged to focus on scale, quality, speed, volume

This is time for the Indian textile industry to focus on scale, quality, speed and higher volume and capture world markets, according to Indian minister for textiles Piyush Goyal, who recently told a conference session in Mumbai that many international companies tell him they are unable to find high-quality high-volume suppliers in the country.

ITA & ACIMIT to showcase Italian textile machinery at Index23

UWE Bristol researchers introduce fabric that monitors heart rate

UWE Bristol researchers at the Centre for Print Research (CFPR) have successfully developed a prototype of a simple piece of fabric, which when placed around a wrist can monitor heart rate and can be worn and washed at least 10 times without compromising its monitoring ability. The research team is being led by senior research fellow Dr Shaila Afroj.
